This is a record to date of cultivars raised at Peveril Nursery by Barry Fretwell – a knowledgeable gardener and exceptional hybridist.
This skilled and time-consuming labour of love has been carried out alongside the considerable pressure of single-handedly running the nursery.
Only four of these cultivars have, belatedly, received the accolade of an AGM – having already become established as desirable plants in numerous countries.
 wherever clematis are grown, the fine plants raised by him are giving pleasure to countless gardeners.
